B&N, RH and S&S in deal with Microsoft


Microsoft, Barnesandnoble.com, Random House and Simon &amp; Schuster have joined forces to offer free e-book versions of bestselling titles. The titles will be available exclusively through Barnesandnoble.com to users of Microsoft Reader using pocket PCs. Free downloads will be offered for an unspecified limited period.</p><p>

Hewlett-Packard and Casio offer Microsoft Reader software with Pocket PCs, and Compaq is to follow suit. There are also plans to make the software available through other platforms.</p><p>
