Barnes & Noble is expected to reveal its latest digital device next Monday, as tablet competition hots up in the wake of Amazon unveiling the Kindle Fire.
Journalists and analysts have been invited to a news conference for a "very special announcement" on 7th November. Barnes & Noble refused to reveal exactly what it is announcing but it is widely expected to be changes to its Nook devices.
Simba Information trade analyst Michael Norris told the Wall Street Journal B&N could cut the $249 (£156.23) price tag of the Nook Color reader to match the Kindle Fire's $199 (£124.86) price. He also suggested it could refine the Nook Color to include new features such as video streaming.
