B&N brings Nook video service to UK

Barnes & Noble has announced that its Nook video service is now available in the UK, offering film and TV shows from the likes of the BBC Worldwide and Warner Bros.

The video service will function on Nook HD and Nook HD+ tablets and also offer UltraViolet-enabled titles, which the company says is a "first digital retailer" offering in the UK.

Customers will now be able to watch programmes such as Sherlock, Call the Midwife, Game of Thrones, True Blood, Ted, The Bourne Legacy, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo on Nook tablet devices with more entertainment partnerships to be announced soon.

Jonathan Shar, vice president and general manager for emerging digital content for Nook Media, said: "We're excited to expand our content partnerships to bring Nook video to our growing base of UK customers."

Claude London, digital director of BBC Worldwide consumer products, added: "We hope that this partnership will provide consumers with flexible access to our wide variety of content including some of our major new releases and well-loved back catalogue."
