Pan Macmillan is launching a "dynamic" new green sister imprint to Bluebird for people who want to live more sustainably.
The imprint will cover topics including cooking, shopping, creating less waste and embracing activism. Its name, logo and further details will be revealed at the London Book Fair 2020, to coincide with Bluebird’s fifth anniversary.
Publisher Carole Tonkinson said: “Next year will mark the fifth anniversary of Bluebird's launch and it feels like a wonderful moment to build on our success. Concerns about the climate have never been more urgent and we are delighted to be able to focus our energies on positive changes we can all make.
“As climate activists from around the world have shown, each of us has the power to make a difference. This list will aim to inspire and galvanise individual action and show how we can, together, take more collective responsibility for creating a better future.”
Bluebird’s nine-strong team, headed up by Tonkinson, will work on both imprints and are looking to acquire titles at Frankfurt.
Anthony Forbes Watson, m.d. of Pan Macmillan, added: “However divided our world may feel, we are united by living on one beautiful, endangered planet, and our collective mind set is greening by the day.
“Carole’s dynamic new imprint will talk to readers keen to make better choices and to live greener, healthier lives. For this idea, the time is now.”
