The Griffin Gate is a middle-grade novella which follows Grace and her family, who are wardens of the Griffin map and can use its teleport technology to help people throughout Moreland. Grace isn't old enough to be a warden herself, but she longs to go on her own missions just like her brother, Bren. When a distress call comes in and Grace is alone with the map, she jumps at the chance to prove herself. Finding herself in a remote village where nothing is quite as it seems, Grace needs to figure things out before its too late.
Bathgate said: "Vashti Hardy's brilliant creativity and flair for world-building allow readers to travel beyond the realms of their own imaginations to fantastical places where remarkable technological inventions empower her characters on their thrilling adventures. I can't wait for our readers to embark on their own journeys of discovery when they meet the feisty heroine of The Griffin Gate."
Hardy commented: "I’ve been a fan of Barrington Stoke books ever since I shared them with my son when he was eight years old, so I’m absolutely over the moon to now be joining their list with The Griffin Gate. I’ve always loved the idea of being able to teleport into a map, and the story of Grace Griffin grew from this. I can’t wait for young readers to adventure to this new world of mystery and invention with her."
