Bloomsbury writing competition returns for World Book Day

<p>Bloomsbury&#39;s online writing competition for children is back for a second year, and will launch on World Book Day (Thursday 4th March) with a new look website<br /><br />247tales.com challenges young writers aged 8 to 16 to create stories using 247 words or fewer.<br /><br />Each month a different Bloomsbury author will pen a tale within the word limit on a certain theme, and then the children can submit their entries and a winner will be chosen.<br /><br />The first author to take part will be Mary Hoffman, with a story on the theme of time travel. Mary Hooper, Paul Dowswell, Cathy MacPhail and Dominic Barker will also take part later in the competition. Bloomsbury said that last year the competition received over 100 entries each month.<br /></p>
