Bloomsbury is to publish City of Fae by self-published author Pippa DaCosta on its digital imprint, Bloomsbury Spark.
The e-book (£3.99) is a new adult urban fantasy about a character named Alina and what happens when the fae (fairy) high queen tries to claim London as her own.
“I’ve had a fae story simmering away at the back of my mind for years, and always knew I would write about them sooner rather than later,” said DaCosta. “But it was travelling on the tube during a trip to London (to the World Sci-Fi & Fantasy Convention) that the ideareally solidified. I remember precisely the moment the story was born: on the Underground, in that nowhere space between stops, where the windows are black, and the train charges into the dark’.
DaCosta is the author of the series The Veil, self-published via Kindle Direct Publishing. One book in the series, Beyond The Veil, reached the quarter finals in the fantasy category of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award.
Bloomsbury Spark will publish City of Fae globally.
