Bloomsbury has signed a two-book deal with actress Celia Imrie.
Editor-in-chief Alexandra Pringle signed world English rights to her debut book, Not Quite Nice, and a follow-up from Robert Caskie at PFD.
The books will be a series, set in the French town of Bellevue-sur-Mer. The books follow Theresa, who has moved from London for a change of scene, and the cast of eccentric ex-pats she encounters.
Pringle said: "Having loved Celia’s acting for many years, working with her on her debut novel is a dream come true. Not Quite Nice is gloriously eccentric and deliciously funny – an absolute joy to read. I can’t wait for the second in the series."
Not Quite Nice will be released in February 2015.
