Bloomsbury UK has sold the rights to Kid Normal, the debut children’s book by Radio 1 DJs Greg James and Chris Smith, in three languages.
Rights have sold in Spanish and Catalan to RBA, and in German to Arena Verlang. Two other deals “are being finalised”, according to the publisher.
Bloomsbury acquired world rights to Kid Normal, which is about a boy called Murph whose mum enrols him at a school for superheroes, in March, with illustrations by Erica Salcedo.
The book will be launched in July 2017 to coincide with an “innovative, high profile, year-round marketing and publicity campaign”. Bloomsbury Australia will following August 2017 and Bloomsbury US in summer 2018.
