Bloomsbury Children's acquires "enchanting" novel

Bloomsbury Children's Books has acquired the rights for an "enchanting" novel by John Green. Publishing director, Sarah Odedina bought UK rights from Donne Forrest of Penguin Children's Books US.

Paper Towns will be published on 3rd May 2010 in paperback priced £6.99.

Odedina said: "Paper Towns is an enchanting novel about a boy’s fascination with a girl, which has much less to do with her than his ‘fantasy’ of her. It is a book that feels so true, about that slightly obsessional love which is not as much for the real person as the person we imagine and it is all done with such tenderness and humour. And it is a really great mystery adventure."

Green previously wrote Looking for Alaska (HarperCollins) and An Abundance of Katherines (Puffin). Green has won awards in America for all three of his novels including the Edgar Allen Poe Award for best mystery novel and the Michael L. Printz Award.
