Bloomsbury Battles for Tiger Mother memoir

<p>Bloomsbury editor-in-chief Alexandra Pringle bought Amy Chua&#39;s memoir <em>The Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother</em> in one of a number of pre-London Book Fair deals signed this week.</p><p> Pringle acquired UK and Commonwealth rights at auction from Stephanie Koven at Janklow &amp; Nesbit for an undisclosed sum. The book was bought in the US at auction by Ann Godoff at Penguin Press. The memoir will be published in spring 2011. </p><p>The book tells the story of Yale law professor Chua&#39;s decision to raise her daughters in a traditional Chinese style aimed at producing high achievers. One child flourished under the strict regime but the other rebelled.<br />&nbsp;</p>
