Bloomsbury has acquired a novel written in 140-character sentences, in the style of Twitter, to be published on 21st May as an e-book exclusive under its Bloomsbury Reader imprint.
Digital media director Stephanie Duncan bought world rights from Caroline Michel at PFD in the title, The Twitter Diaries: 2 Cities, 1 Friendship, 140 Characters, by Georgie Thompson and Imogen Lloyd Webber. It will be released worldwide on 21st May.
It follows the messages exchanged between characters Tuesday and Stella, @TuesdayFields and @StellaCavill, two British 30-somethings who meet in New York City on New Year's Eve, with the story unfolding over the next 365 days.
Duncan said: "We're excited about the potential of this book: a witty 21st century tale written entirely in Twitter, 140 character sentences, easy to dip in and out of."
