Blink Publishing has signed an as-yet-untitled book by social media "phenomenon”, internet prankster Ben Phillips.
Ben Dunn, m.d. of Blink Publishing, acquired UK & Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada) from Cathryn Summerhayes at William Morris Entertainment.
Phillips is a Welsh prankster best known for his comedy tricks against his “much-maligned” brother Elliot which he showcases in videos on social media.
The book will be a “rollercoaster ride into the dangerous mind of Ben and the empty mind of Elliot". It will be full of untold anecdotes and will feature a timeline of Phillips' "incredible journey from zero followers to five million". Philips has 5.9m likes on Facebook, 1.3m followers on Vine and 170k followers on Twitter.
Philips said: “If the world ended tomorrow and you had to go into a bunker with no internet, this book is all you would need.”
Dunn said: “Blink was the first to market with a hugely successful vlogger book from Alfie Deyes and we plan to do the same with the Kings of Facebook.”
The book will be published in November 2016 and will be supported by a full sales, PR and marketing campaign across traditional and social media.
