Blink acquires former boxing promoter Kellie Maloney's memoir

Blink Publishing has acquired world rights to the autobiography of former boxing promoter, Kellie Maloney.

Clare Tillyer, acquisitions and rights director, acquired the book, titled Frankly Kellie, from Tim Bates at Pollinger Limited.

The book will tell the story of how Maloney, born a boy named Frank in Peckham during the 1950’s, went on to earn fame and fortune in the world of professional boxing, while battling against the inner turmoil of being in the wrong body. The book will take the reader on a journey through the physical and emotional aspects of the transgender process, as well as celebrating Maloney’s life.

The book is ghost-written by Kevin Brennan, a freelance writer who has known Maloney for more than 30 years. Formerly a sports editor, Brennan has contributed to various national newspapers and magazines and has ghosted several autobiographies.

Blink will publish Frankly Kellie on 6th August 2015.
