Blackwell's Cardiff in closure threat

Blackwell's UK has confirmed that it is reviewing the future of its Cardiff Royal Arcade branch. A source this week claimed that the shop would close after Christmas.</p><p>

Alan Leitch, managing director of Blackwell's UK, said that no decision had as yet been made. "We are reviewing all the optionsone is closure, but we may also re-profile, downsize or relocate. There is no exit plan or date yet."</p><p>

He added that the store was not a "core business", as opposed to the Cardiff University branch. "Cardiff does not perform as one would hope and expect for a capital city."</p><p>
