Blackwell’s has acquired the Keele University campus bookshop from Waterstones, as it continues a wave of expansion that began when it took over the Derby campus shop in May.
The current staff are to be retained with the store officially becoming Blackwell’s on 22nd July.
David Prescott, Blackwell’s c.e.o., said: “We are delighted to further extend our growing portfolio of university campus bookshops and welcome Keele into the Blackwell’s fold.
"The reputation of Keele University, particularly in developing the use of smart card technology on campus to enhance the student experience, has made them a long term target of ours.”
Blackwell’s investment in the store will include an "upmarket" coffee shop.
With the Derby and Keele acquisitions, the chain will trade from 58 locations.
