Biteback has acquired a memoir from radio presenter Paul Gambaccini about when he was falsely accused of sexual assault.
The publisher acquired the UK and Commonwealth rights to Love, Paul Gambaccini, which it describes as a “no-holds-barred story” about 12 months of trauma, from Caroline Michel at PFD. Publication is set for September this year.
“When I was sitting in a jail cell waiting for a solicitor, I made myself three promises. I would lose weight, become a better piano player and write a book about whatever was about to occur,” said Gambaccini. “I am glad to say I shed a stone, learned several of Mendelssohn's ‘Songs Without Words’ and wrote Love, Paul Gambaccini.”
Gambaccini was arrested in October 2013 on suspicion of historical sexual abuse. He cleared of any wrongdoing but not until October the following year.
