Charlotte Bingham, author of more than 40 novels, will publish her new title as an e-book for the first time with independent publisher Merriday.
Mums on the Run will be published both as a paperback and as an e-book on 7th March in time for Mother's Day on 14th March.
Tim Barlass, founder of the publisher, bought the digital rights directly from Bingham. Barlass said: "I hear anecdotally that there are many authors who want to go down a similar route to Charlotte, largely because they are frustrated about the e-book terms they are being offered by their current publishers or because their titles are not being made available at all in digital format."
Mums on the Run is the first in a series that tells the story of two middle- aged women seeking a break from the frustrations of modern living.
Bingham said: "I am very pleased to be moving into the e-book world. I have been published since the age of 19 and feel this is an important move to make." A large number of Bingham's previous titles will also gradually be rolled out as e-books under the Merriday imprint.
