Hachette Books Ireland and Orion Publishing, in collaboration with the Irish Times, have jointly acquired a collection of the late bestselling author Maeve Binchy's journalism, Maeve's Times.
The book will be released with an introduction by Binchy's husband, Gordon Snell, and will be published in July, on the first anniversary of her death. The collection has been selected by Irish Times columnist Róisín Ingle.
Orion holds British Commonwealth rights in the title, excluding USA, with Hachette Books Ireland holding Irish rights.
Orion publisher Susan Lamb said: "I first 'discovered' Maeve as a journalist way back when . . . so it is particularly poignant for me that we are bringing her journalism to a wider audience by publishing this collection."
Hachette Books Ireland managing director Breda Purdue said she expected the book to be "a big summer bestseller".
Binchy’s best known novels include Light a Penny Candle, Circle of Friends and Scarlet Feather.
