Bertelsmann on "very good course", claims c.e.o

<p>Bertelsmann AG is on a &quot;very good course&quot; after the first six months of the year, according to its chief executive Hartmut Ostrowski.</p><p><a href=" target="_blank"><em>Business Week</em> </a>reports the head of the group, which owns Random House, as taking a bullish stance about the current trading environment. </p><p>&quot;I&rsquo;m very optimistic about the current development, and not just for Bertelsmann,&quot; Ostrowski said at a media forum in Cologne yesterday (28th June). &quot;We as an industry should finally stop doubting ourselves.&quot;</p><p>Having recorded a &quot;record&quot; first quarter, in which the group reported net income of &euro;15m (&pound;9.96m) following a net loss of &euro;94m for the previous 12 months, &quot;also after six months we are on a very good course,&quot; he added.</p>
