Snowbooks is to become a family affair, with the husband of co-founder and m.d Emma Barnes due to join the publisher on 1st October.
Andrew Barnes will take on the role of director of digital marketing, a position that was created for him. He was previously an associate director at investment bank ABM Amro but said that he was "looking forward" to working in a family business.
He added: "I have enjoyed watching my wife’s company grow from a simple idea to a significant, innovative independent publisher over the last five years, and now I want to help to take advantage of its position at the forefront of digital publishing. I’m looking forward to being able to give digital sales a renewed focus – and to working in the family business"
Emma Barnes said that her husband had been "supportive from the very start" and added: "it doesn't really feel like 'joining' as he's been part of it all along". Due to Snowbooks "flat structure" Barnes said did not think she would be classed as his "boss".
She added: "Andy is a fantastic marketer and in reality has been a key part of Snowbooks since its inception. I’m looking forward to him playing a more overt role in the coming months and to turning our strength in innovative marketing into more revenue."
