Barnes' husband joins Snowbooks

<p>Snowbooks is to become a family affair, with the husband of co-founder and m.d Emma Barnes due to join the publisher on 1st October. </p><p>Andrew Barnes will take on the role of director of digital marketing, a position that was created for him. He was previously an associate director at investment bank ABM Amro but said that he was &quot;looking forward&quot; to working in a family business. <br /><br />He added: &quot;I have enjoyed watching my wife&rsquo;s company grow from a simple idea to a significant, innovative independent publisher over the last five years, and now I want to help to take advantage of its position at the forefront of digital publishing. I&rsquo;m looking forward to being able to give digital sales a renewed focus &ndash; and to working in the family business&quot;<br /><br />Emma Barnes said that her husband had been &quot;supportive from the very start&quot; and added: &quot;it doesn&#39;t really feel like &#39;joining&#39; as he&#39;s been part of it all along&quot;. Due to Snowbooks &quot;flat structure&quot; Barnes said did not think she would be classed as his &quot;boss&quot;.<br /> <br />She added: &quot;Andy is a fantastic marketer and in reality has been a key part of Snowbooks since its inception. I&rsquo;m looking forward to him playing a more overt role in the coming months and to turning our strength in innovative marketing into more revenue.&quot;</p>
