Publisher Barefoot Books has told business associates it will close its Oxford studio at the end of the month.
In an email the company said it will “continue to publish for trade and educational customers” but will close its space in Oxford, which is a bookshop, events space and café, on 31st December.
Barefoot took the decision to close the Oxford studio earlier this year. At the time, editor-in-chief Tessa Strickland said it was “somewhat of a time-consuming distraction”.
The publisher also let go all of its UK-based ambassadors - freelance booksellers, working for themselves and selling to the public - although it is still selling some titles to UK trade partners though Littlehampton Book Services (LBS).
The company’s North American book business remains unaffected.
