Bookshops will be able to receive tailor-made marketing material and promotions from publishers under a new web-based scheme launched by the Booksellers Association.
Batchconnect.com launched this week and is free to Booksellers Association and Society of Authors members. Associates of the Publishers Association and Independent Publishers Guild can sign up for a free trial until 1st May.
The service allows bookshops to search on site for specific publisher promotions and receive targeted alerts. Publishers can promote titles by attaching marketing messages, offers and supplemental material to a book’s ISBN using the Nielsen Book database. Authors can also self-promote via the website.
It is hoped that the electronics returns and invoicing services offered by Batch.co.uk, which is owned by the BA, will be incorporated into the site at a later date.
