Avon's Maze buys Clarke novel

Avon’s digital-first imprint Maze has signed a new crime novel from Angela Clarke.

Publishing director Eleanor Dryden acquired UK and Commonwealth rights for Follow Me in a deal with Diana Beaumont at The Agency Group.
Follow Me tells the story of journalist Freddie Venton who is determined to get the inside scoop when a brutal murder is committed. It’s not long until a photo of the crime scene appears on Twitter and only the killer could have put it there. As the tweets become increasingly more cryptic it soon becomes clear that only Freddie can solve them, but no one is listening to her, and the murderer is closing in.

Dryden said: "Angela has a uniquely compelling voice and her original concept and very strong hook really bring a twist to the crime genre. The sophisticated and satisfying plot, along with a hugely appealing and fresh new character, really tap into current trends and will keep you absolutely on the edge of your seat until the end."

Maze plans to reveal the cover for Follow Me as part of a "comprehensive and high impact" social media campaign.
Clarke has written for the Guardian, the Independent, the Daily Mail, Cosmopolitan, Writing Magazine and You Magazine among others. She also recently won the prestigious 2015 Young Stationers’ Prize for accomplishment and promise in writing.

Maze plans to publish the book in October.
