Avon takes two more from Osborne

Avon has bought two more novels from Bella Osborne, taking its contract with the writer up to 2022.

Editor Molly Walker-Sharp bought world English-language rights from Kate Nash at Kate Nash Literary Agency.

The first book in the new contract, The Promise of Summer, is described as “a delightfully romantic read in which two strangers unite to return a lost engagement ring to its owner after he leaves it behind on a Sheffield-to-London train”.

Walker-Sharp said: “Avon has been so proud to be the home of Bella’s books for the past five years, and we are thrilled to be continuing this partnership for a further two books. Uproariously funny, charmingly relatable and written with a huge amount of heart, Bella’s books offer the escape we all need right now. She is a real talent in the women’s fiction market, and we know that The Promise of Summer will have her many fans belly-laughing later this year.”

Osborne is the author of seven romantic comedies, and has been shortlisted three times for the Roomantic Novelists' Association's Contemporary Romantic Novel of the Year Award.

She said: “I’m thrilled to be continuing to work with the fabulously talented team at Avon, and I can’t wait to reach more readers. This story was one of those ideas that took hold and wouldn’t let go. As soon as the scene of two strangers arguing on a train arrived in my head, I had to know the rest of their story.”

Nash commented: “Bella Osborne's growing fanbase are in for the perfect romcom treat with The Promise of Summer.
