Avon has bought the first crime thriller by fantasy author Tim J Lebbon.
Editorial Director Eleanor Dryden bought UK and Commonwealth rights to two books from the Howard Morhaim Literary Agency, via Caspian Dennis at Abner Stein.
Lebbon’s first crime novel The Hunt is set for release in digital format in June and in paperback in July this summer.
Dryden said: “The Hunt is the most pulse-pounding, suspenseful and intense page-turner I’ve read for a long time. It’s a simple, terrifying concept, with action and drama so gripping you have to remind yourself to breathe. I apologise in advance for the sleep you’re likely to miss once you pick up this fresh, top-notch thriller. I am incredibly excited to be publishing Tim and a book that I feel strongly deserves the accolade of best British thriller of 2015.”
Lebbon has written more than 30 novels as well as novellas and short stories.
A film of his short story "Pay the Ghost", starring Nicolas Cage, will be released soon, and other projects in development include "My Haunted House", "Playtime", and "Exorcising Angels".
He has won 4 British Fantasy Awards, a Bram Stoker Award and a Scribe Award.
