Avon has signed up the first in a series of cozy crime mysteries featuring Monty, a crime solving dog and his adopted owner Asha Sidebottom.
Katy Loftus signed UK and Commonwealth rights in Monty and Me by Louisa Bennet from Philip Patterson at Marjacq Scripts.
Bennet is a pseudonym for thriller writer, L A Larkin.
In the first book, Monty helps inexperienced police officer Asha to track down his master's killer. When her investigation starts heading in the wrong direction, Monty is forced to intervene,
Patterson said: "A Monty is for life not just for Christmas. This endearing story is the perfect escapist read for young and old and has fun written all over it in six foot letters."
German rights have already been pre-empted by by Kirsten Nägele of Heyne.
It will be released for Christimas 2015.
