Agatha Christie fans Kate Mosse, Val McDermid and Jasper Fforde are to appear at the Southbank Centre in London on 16th September to discuss the work of the mystery author, as part of this year’s Christie Week.
Running from 13th-20th September, the week of celebrations will also include Laura Thompson speaking at Throckmorton Literary Festival in Warwickshire on 20th September. The annual Agatha Christie Festival in Torquay will also include plays, open-air cinema screenings and tea dances, plus a talk by Christie’s grandson Mathew Prichard. The Agatha Christie Theatre Company will perform "Spider’s Web” and “Murder On Air”, which they will also present from 10th-12th September at the Hexagon Theatre in Reading as part of the Reading Festival of Crime Writing.
BBC Radio 4 will also broadcast a series of afternoon readings of Christie’s The Coming of Mr Quin, The Soul of the Croupier and At The Bells and Motley, which will be aired over three days during Christie week; on 12th September R4’s Archive Hour will also feature "Agatha Christie’s Life in Her Words".
