Aurum buys "Freddy Krueger" autobiography

<p>Aurum has bought the rights for actor Robert Englund&#39;s autobiography. Sam Harrison, commissioning editor, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Lisa Keim at Pocket Books.<br /><br /><em>Hollywood Monster: A Walk Down Elm Street With The Man Of Your Dreams</em> will be written by Englund and Alan Goldsher. Englund is most well known for his portrayal of Freddy Krueger in &quot;A Nightmare On Elm Street&quot;. His first appearance in this role was in 1984, but he went on to reprise it in seven sequels and a TV series.</p><p>The title will contain forewords from directors Wes Craven (&quot;A Nightmare On Elm Street&quot;) and Tobe Hooper (&quot;The Texas Chainsaw Massacre&quot;). The book will be published in October 2009 to coincide with Halloween and the 25th anniversary of Englund&#39;s first &quot;Freddy&quot; appearance.<br /><br />Harrison said: &quot;I&#39;m incredibly excited that Aurum are publishing Robert&#39;s charming and very funny memoir. I confess I&#39;m a fan&mdash;one of the many millions around the world whose nightmares he stalked as Freddy Krueger. <em>Hollywood Monster </em>promises to be the cult hit of Christmas 2009.&quot;<br /><br />Goldsher has previously written alongside comedians Bernie Mac and Fred Willard. <br /><br />&nbsp;</p>
