Audio subscription revenues propel 2018 rise in Sweden's book market

Revenues from streaming companies skyrocketed by 33.4% in Sweden in 2018, according to annual research by the Swedish Publishers Association and the Swedish Booksellers Association.

The data is contained in a report (Bokforsaljningsstatistiken, compiled by Erik Wikberg), focusing on trade books sold in Swedish bricks-and-mortar bookstores, online stores, supermarkets, as well as through subscription services Storytel, Nextory and BookBeat, and book clubs.
