Audible has signed world English rights to the novels of Georges Simenon, best known for his Inspector Maigret novels, all 75 of which are included.
The signing is aligned to a wider deal with agency PFD to make 450 titles from 74 authors available for audio download.
Alongside Simenon will be authors including Rebecca West, Monica Dickens and Dennis Wheatley. Almost 400 are part of the Bloomsbury Reader series and will be made available as e-books and audio.
Audible’s Laurence Howell said the Amazon-owned audiobook specialist would “relish making authors like Nicholas Freeling . . . available for download, in many cases for the very first time”.
