Margaret Atwood is marking the paperback publication of her Booker-winning novel The Testaments (Chatto) with a live streamed event via Fane Online.
The event will initially be broadcast on 5th September at 6.30 p.m. and will be available to view on demand for up to 72 hours, worldwide.
It comes just after the paperback is released on 1st September and will see Atwood reflect on her career, works and why she has returned to her seminal story 35 years after The Handmaid's Tale.
Tickets are on sale from 10 a.m. today (20th August). In association with Waterstones, a “book and stream” package includes a ticket for the live stream, and a copy of The Testaments, worth £8.99, deliverable to any UK address. The standard package consists of a ticket for the live stream only.
The event is the latest online event from Fane, with appearances already announced from celebrities including Nigella Lawson, Ant and Dec, Arsène Wenger, Graham Norton and Elizabeth Day.
Alex Fane, m.d, said: “It has been a tough few months for everyone involved in the arts, so it gives us huge joy to be able to collaborate with so many areas of the industry to deliver a new, creative, exciting proposition. Fane Online offers an unparalleled quality of at-home viewing with an incredibly broad list of shows.”
