Atlantic Books has partnered with independent audiobook publisher W F Howes to form an audio partnership that will see up to 10 titles co-published a year.
Audio editions of Sharon Stone’s The Beauty of Living Twice (Allen & Unwin, 1st April) and Oyinkan Braithwaite’s The Baby is Mine (Atlantic Books, 27th May) will be among the first titles in the programme.
Atlantic rights director Alice Latham said: “Atlantic Books and W F Howes already have a successful and long-standing relationship and this partnership will further cement our strong association. The diverse range of brilliant authors published across the Atlantic Books, Corvus, and Allen & Unwin imprints will benefit substantially with audio editions available simultaneously alongside print and e-book editions. We are extremely lucky to have such an experienced partner as W F Howes to guide our first steps into audio publishing.”
Atlantic Book managing director and publisher Will Atkinson added: “As a smaller publisher, you can’t do everything yourself, so the ability to partner with strong and natural allies is key to success. In W F Howes we have a brilliant and compatible partner, with whom we have worked for many years. I couldn’t be more delighted.”
Dominic White, head of publishing and commerce for W F Howes, said of the partnership: “We’re thrilled to commit to a creative audiobook collaboration which furthers our close relationship with award-winning publisher Atlantic Books. Our significant scale and unique ability to monetise audio will enable more of Atlantic’s brilliant titles to be published in audio and grow even greater audiences."
