Dani Atkins, author of e-book titles Fractured and The Story of Us, has moved to Simon & Schuster UK in a two-book deal after a "heated" auction.
Kate Burke at Diane Banks Associates negotiated the UK and Commonwealth deal with Jo Dickinson, publishing director, Fiction at S&S UK.
Jo Dickinson said: “Dani writes with real heart and emotion and I am thrilled to welcome her to the Simon & Schuster team. We plan to build Dani’s brand considerably over the coming years as her writing goes from strength to strength. Full of Dani’s signature warmth and emotion, her new novel, provisionally titled Every Beat of My Heart, promises to be a gripping family drama. This is a very exciting acquisition.”
Atkins said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining S&S and to be in such great company, and I am looking forward to a long and happy relationship with Jo and the team.”
Atkins’ first two novels were published by Head of Zeus. Fractured topped The Bookseller’s e-book ranking and the Amazon Kindle chart and sold over 285,000 copies, as well as selling foreign rights in fourteen countries.
Simon & Schuster will publish the first novel in early 2016.
