Archer deal due


Jeffrey Archer is believed to be on the verge of a multi-million pound three-book deal.</p><p>

The deadline for offers was Thursday, 9th March. HarperCollins and Macmillan are believed to be vying for the three works, in an unusual deal involving a fixed fee for worldwide rights and no royalties. A similar deal was struck by the author with HC for his last three books, including his latest release To Cut a Long Story Short, published last Monday. HC is believed to have paid in the region of $14m for the deal, with an additional $3m paid to Hodder for the author's backlist.</p><p>
