Data specialist Nielsen Book has announced that Ann Betts, the current m.d. of client services for Book International, will step down from her role at the end of the month.
It is understood that Betts' role has been made redundant following the company’s leadership changes, announced in April, when Jonathan Nowell stepped down and Jonathan Stolper was promoted to the position of senior vice president and m.d of Nielsen Book.
Stolper announced the news internally yesterday (11th August), saying it was “with regret” that Betts is to leave her role.
Betts has worked at Nielsen Book for almost 17 years, taking on her role as m.d. of Book International in 2013. She was responsible for the division’s commercial relationships in the UK, Italy, Spain, India and South Africa.
She said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with Nielsen and leave the business in a very different place to the one I joined back in 1998. I look forward to seeing the business continue to grow and wish everyone in the team a successful future.”
Stolper added: “Ann’s accomplishments have been instrumental to Nielsen Book’s success over the years. She was a key figure in the establishment of Nielsen BookScan as the UK standard for book sales measurement and was the driving force behind Nielsen Book’s international expansion. Ann’s commitment to her clients and colleagues has been unmatched and she will be missed."
