Angry Robot has signed an author previously published by its now closed YA imprint Strange Chemistry.
Danielle L Jensen first released Stolen Songbird with Strange Chemistry, which Angry Robot will now republish, followed by Hidden Huntress in June 2015, the second title in the planned Malediction trilogy.
Stolen Songbird follows a girl who is kidnapped by trolls who live beneath a mountain. Jensen is currently in the running for Best Debut Goodreads Author of 2014.
The deal was done with Tamar Rydzinski of the Laura Dail Literary Agency.
Angry Robot's US sales and marketing manager Mike Underwood said: "We're incredibly pleased to be bringing Danielle's Malediction Trilogy over to Angry Robot. The first novel, Stolen Songbird, shattered all of our sales expectations and has achieved so much in the months since its release. And with the well-oiled machine of Angry Robot behind the series, even more readers will be able to fall in love with Cécile and her world.”
Angry Robot closed the imprints prior to its sale by the Osprey Group. It is now part of Watkins Media Ltd.
