Joyce and Brownlee attach to Muswell Press

Andrea Joyce is to join Muswell Press to handle the publisher's international translation rights, while Fiona Brownlee will head publicity, as the indie expands its team to take on more titles in 2021.

Joyce was previously rights director at Canongate, and past winner of the British Book Awards Rights Professional of the Year. She said: "I greatly admire Muswell Press and I’m truly delighted to be working with them handling their translation rights and playing a part in bringing their brilliant list to an international readership."

Fiona Brownlee has also recently joined the independent publisher to head publicity across its list, in addition to handling North American, Australian and New Zealand rights. She said: "I adore working for Muswell Press. They combine big company strategy with small company author care. I particularly admired how nimble they were during lockdown. Their dynamic diverse list deserves to win every award going."

Sarah and Kate Beal, co-founders and publishers, said: "We are so pleased to have Fiona and Andrea on board. Their professionalism, experience and passion are legendary and will be a huge asset in taking Muswell to the next stage as we expand."

The press will publish 15 titles in 2021, an increase of five from this year.
