Andersen Press has acquired a new illustrated series from Josh Lacey, author of the Dragonsitter series, with illustrations by Beatriz Castro, the cover illustrator of the bestselling Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend.
Each book in the series is written in a funny, accessible blog format and focuses on a different environmental issue. The first, Hope Jones Saves the World, publishing in the UK in May 2020, "focuses on 10-year-old Hope Jones’s fight against plastic pollution, and is packed full of practical tips to help young readers make a positive environmental impact," said Andersen.
Hope Jones Saves the World will publish in paperback, £6.99, on 7th May 2020. It will be accompanied by a launch campaign featuring promotions with Lovereading4Schools, WRD magazine and The Green Parent; a UK author tour; special reusable environmentally-friendly promotional straws created for events and promotion and a brand new series website with downloadable resources exploring the environmental themes of the series
A follow up, Hope Jones Will Not Eat Meat will be publishing in January 2021. Publishing director Charlie Sheppard secured world rights for the series direct from Lacey.
