Amazon is said to be in talks with a number of Dutch publishers over the sale of e-books in the Netherlands, according to a Financial Times report.
Sander Knol, director of Dutch publisher Xander, is quoted as saying Amazon has approached his company "and so we are getting close."
Currently Amazon's Netherlands website Amazon.nl redirects users to Amazon.co.uk, which delivers to the Netherlands.
The FT states that while the Netherlands does not allow print books to be sold below their cover price, retail pricing for e-books is not capped.
Amazon did not provide a comment to the FT.
