Amazon sells out of both Kindles days after launch

<p>Amazon.co.uk has sold out of both of its new models of the Kindle e-book reader, just days after it was announced.</p><p>In a note on the device&#39;s product page, Amazon said: &quot;Due to strong customer demand, Kindle is temporarily sold out.&quot; Any orders placed today [2nd August] are expected to dispatch on or before September 4&quot;.</p><p>The internet retailer revealed on Thursday that it was launching a dedicated co.uk Kindle store, with more than 400,000 titles available. It is selling two devices; the 3G model is priced &pound;149 and the wi-fi model is priced &pound;149. The retailer has promised its e-book prices will be the lowest among any e-book retailer.</p><p><a href="http://www.thebookseller.com/news/48635-amazons-kindle-out-of-stock.html" target="_blank">The demand is similar to that when Amazon launched its first Kindle model in 2007.
