Amazon in rapid UK growth

Amazon.co.uk has announced sales figures for the first time, showing turnover of &pound;26m for the fourth quarter to 31st December 1999. This represents a 430% hike in sales compared with 1998, when it made &pound;4.9m in the last quarter. Steve Frazier, managing director of Amazon.co.uk, said that the "vast majority" of the sales were from books.</p><p>
