Publishers report incoming shipment delays at Amazon

Publishers are reporting that shipments have been turned away by Amazon's warehouses in recent weeks, at the busiest time of the year for new releases.

Amazon's warehouses are thought to be running at fuller capacity because the retail giant has moved its summer Prime Day sales event, usually held in July, to a new date of 13th-14th October, as a result of the pandemic. Amazon has said its "priority remains to protect book availability".
