Amazon.com has dropped the price of its advertising-heavy Amazon 3G Kindle to $139 (£86.91).
Telecoms company AT&T is sponsoring the Kindle with Special Offers, which will include campaigns for customers and sponsored screensavers. It is $50 (£31.26) cheaper than the Kindle 3G device that does not carry advertising.
Jeff Bezos, Amazon c.e.o, said: "Kindle 3G customers read 20 percent more books, and take advantage of twice as many special offers."
Amazon is yet to bring the Kindle with Special Offers to the United Kingdom.
