Fiona Valpy's The Dressmaker's Gift (Lake Union) has risen seamlessly into the Amazon Charts' Most-Sold: Fiction number one spot, displacing last week's top spot holder (and the current UK Official Top 50 number one through Nielsen BookScan) Charlie Mackesy's The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse (Ebury).
Marian Keyes' Grown Ups (Penguin) débuted in the top 20 in second place, earning the "most anticipated" tag after receiving more pre-orders than any other title in the chart.
Other new entries into Most-Sold: Fiction included Alex North's The Whisper Man (Penguin) in fourth, Ali Mercer's His Secret Family (Bookouture) in sixth and Mhairi McFarlane's If I Never Met You (HarperCollins) in seventh.
Kay Featherstone and Kate Allinson's Pinch of Nom: Everyday Light (Bluebird) re-claimed its Most-Sold: Non-Fiction number one title, joined by its million-copy-bestselling predecessor. The food bloggers' Bluebird stablemate Joe Wicks' Wean in 15 made its début in eighth place, clearly racking up pre-orders before its May release.
Previous Most-Sold: Non-Fiction number one James Smith's Not a Diet Book (HarperCollins) rose to third place in Most-Read: Non-Fiction, and was more listened to in audio format than read on Kindle. However, Most-Read: Non-Fiction stalwarts Michelle Obama's Becoming (Penguin) and Bill Bryson's The Body (Transworld) blocked it from the top two places.
It was a similar story in Most-Read: Fiction, with the Harry Potter titles (Pottermore/Bloomsbury) once again filling the top seven. However, Marian Keyes fans were clearly keen to get cracking on Grown Ups—it débuted in 19th place in Most-Read: Fiction the same week it hit second in Most-Sold.
