Amazon has revealed that Damien Boyd, who publishes crime novels under Amazon Publishing’s Thomas & Mercer imprint, has sold one million copies of his books across print and digital.
The former solicitor has penned six books under the DI Nick Dixon series, with the seventh, Heads or Tails, published yesterday (14th September).
Boyd, who lives in Devon, gave up his job to write full time, but draws on his knowledge and experience of criminal law for his novels.
He said: “I have to pinch myself when I think how many people are out there reading, and I hope enjoying, my books. So many dreams have come true, with so many milestones hit along the way, but one million books sold really is the icing on the cake.
“What started out as a hobby has grown into something beyond my wildest imaginings and I would like to thank each and every reader who has followed Nick, Jane and Monty's adventures.”
The paperback editions of his books are listed for £4.99, while the Kindle editions are listed at £3.98.
Boyd has two more novels planned for 2018, his publisher Thomas & Mercer said.
