Agents round on Amazon and publishers' Kindle Unlimited push

Four leading literary agents have warned of Amazon’s increased dominance following the lockdown and the decision of some major houses to put books into Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited e-book subscription scheme at a time when the wider ecosystem has become more fragile.

The comments were made during a live agents' session at FutureBook 2020, with The Bookseller’s managing editor Tom Tivnan quizzing Lizzy Kremer, agent at David Higham Associates (pictured); Cathryn Summerhayes, agent with Curtis Brown; Nelle Andrew, agent at Rachel Mills Literary; and Sam Copeland, agent at RCW.
