Agents should pivot towards film and television, says Nelle Andrew

Agents should begin pivoting towards film and television as well as traditional publishing, according to Rachel Mills Literary agent Nelle Andrew. 

Speaking in conversation with The Bookseller’s managing editor Tom Tivnan at the FutureBook conference on 19th November, Andrew said she thought it “made sense” for agents to go “wherever the narrative is” rather than outsourcing it. “Quite a few of my authors have wanted to move into screenwriting which makes sense because publishing doesn’t always pay them enough to keep them going in that particular way,” she said.
