Agents and publishers make last-minute Frankfurt trips as others bypass fair

Several agents and publishers made a last-minute trip to the Frankfurt Book Fair this year, although many of those who stayed at home bypassed the official rights portal and conducted their own virtual meetings during October.

Industry figures reported lots of big deals being struck, with many enjoying being able to see their foreign counterparts in person again. According to organisers, there were 52 UK companies physically exhibiting at the fair last week, with 73,500 attendees from 105 countries joining in total, exceeding expectations.
