A&C Black buys &##34;Whitaker's Almanack&##34;

<p>A&C Black, the reference house owned by Bloomsbury, has acquired "Whitaker's Almanack" and its spin-off titles for &#163;750,000 from The Stationery Office (TSO). The "Almanack" series will join A&C Black's portfolio of classic reference works, which include "Who's Who", "Black's Medical Dictionary" and "Encarta". It is also expected to be developed into an online database. Jill Coleman, A&C Black m.d., said: "It will be a huge asset, both in terms of its current sales and the potential for future development of the Whitaker's brand for print and electronic products."</p><p> TSO acquired...
